Phoeto is ment to fill in the gap in open source software where Mac photo organizers are supposed to be. There are a few image organizers out there and I'm pretty sure i've tried them all but they're all lacking in some way or another.
Phoeto will have fast thumbnail view creation and display, folder preview images, where it renders the first image or movie in a folder on top of a folder icon to represent that folder in the thumbnail view, a really fast fullscreen viewer, drag and drop capability, and bookmark capability.
Best for last, Phoeto will be GPL software, so it will be available at no cost and you will, if inclined, be able to modify it to beter suit your needs!
